Hurley Partners Appoints Martin Tilley as Pension Director

We are delighted to announce a senior level appointment with Martin Tilley joining as Pension Director. He starts his new role on 21st January 2019.

Martin joins from Dentons Pension Management where he had over 30 years’ service and held the position of Director of Technical Services. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise in member-directed pensions – Small Self-Administered Pensions (SSASs) and Self-Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs).

In his new role at Hurley Partners, Martin will focus this expertise on our successful pensions business and with particular emphasis on developing advisory and trustee relationships with both existing and new SSAS clients. He will be working closely with the firm’s other pension specialists and particularly with Jerry Rixon, one of the founders of Hurley Partners and another leading SSAS practitioner.

Commenting on Martin’s appointment, Jerry Rixon (right) said “Martin is one of the country’s top pensions experts and bringing him to Hurley Partners adds tremendous strength and pedigree to our well-established team. I am looking forward to working with him and introducing him to our clients. The SSAS market remains very strong particularly as these schemes have the potential of being one of the most tax-efficient vehicles available in family (and family business) wealth planning”.

Martin Tilley added “I am thrilled to have found such like-minded people at Hurley Partners. The business is successful and well-respected, and I look forward to playing my part in adding to the firm’s pension offering whilst assisting in its measured development plans. Jerry Rixon was instrumental in my decision to join and between the two of us we can boast over 75 years of combined experience in SSASs”.

Hurley Partners provides families and individuals with the careful management of their financial assets and the protection of their financial legacy. As at 31st December 2018, Hurley Partners managed around 170 SSASs and 150 SIPPs.
